The Crowborough and Rotherfield Art Group is managed by a voluntary Committee of 7 people and an AGM is held every year.

We bring our own equipment and materials.  None are supplied.

CRAG meets on Friday mornings at the Crowborough Community Centre, Pine Grove, TN6 1FE.  The first session is generally held in mid to late September and the last at the end of April (with a break over the Christmas period).  We meet in the main hall which is open to us from 9.30 am and chairs and tables are laid out for us when we arrive.  There are artist demonstrations and tutoring around once a fortnight starting at 10 am.  In between demos are Free Painting sessions allowing for finishing work or new projects.  We leave at 12.30 ensuring our work areas are clean.  We do not have to move tables or chairs.

There is a kitchen to make teas and coffees and we break around 11 am.

Group members can work on their own artwork rather than the subject of the day – it is very flexible.  Most work is in acrylic, watercolour, pastel or collage.  We have a Life drawing class every year.  Oil painting demos are not held and painting in oils is not permitted because of odours from the paint and cleansing agents.

We rent a room for Summer Painting also at the Community Centre, Pine Grove, TN6 1FE between June and August.  There is no teaching but group members bring their own art projects to work on.  The cost is £5 per week and you only pay on days you attend.  We meet in a room downstairs in the building between 9.15 and 12.15 pm.  Attendance is as suits individuals and we aim to cover the rental costs.

The rent for the Community Centre, insurance and fees for tutors are funded by an annual subscription of £150.00 payable by the end of August.  This is likely to be subject to a small increase year on year.
